I would like to speak to those who are demonstating against our involvement in the gulf war.
I have had loved ones in four wars. My husband and two brothers were in World War II. One of my brothers was a POW for several weeks. Also, one brother was wounded in the Korean conflict. A nephew was in the Vietnam War and now a grandson is in the Navy.
It is (the demonstrators’) privilege as Americans to speak their thoughts, but I believe they could be helping our cause over there in a much more constructive way.
Our brave men and women don’t relish the chance they are taking with their lives, but they are not protesting. They are doing their jobs and standing up for their country and president. After all, that is what the war is all about, so that we and all nations can keep the freedom our brave men and women have fought and died for.
If you want to do something constructive, instead of destructive, why don’t you demonstrate for this conflict to be over soon and that we stand behind our leaders and are proud of our military?… Frances M. Pinkham Milbridge
