CAMDEN – The Camden-Rockport Windjammers outscored Rockland 20-2 in the second half to upset the Tigers 30-21 in schoolboy basketball action here Tuesday night.

Rockland took an 11-2 first-quarter lead and a 19-10 advantage at the half. However, C-R went its 20-2 surge in the second half and then used a four-corners’ offense in the final minutes to stifle the Tigers.

T.J. Hoffman scored 14 points for the 9-8 winners while Brett Hayward and Todd Shaw each notched 4 assists.

Jeff Woodman scored 8 points for Rockland, now 11-6.

At Thomaston, Chip Robinson tipped in a Bob Strong miss with three seconds remaining in the game to give the Buccaneers their first lead of the game and the winning basket.

Strong led the 7-10 Buccaneers with 18 points and Robinson added 11 points and 10 rebounds.

For Monmouth, now 4-13, Chad Frost scored 14 points and Brett Witherell had 13. Frank Mason chipped in with 10 points.

David Walker added 14 points and Aaron Chambers had 12 for 4-13 Bucksport. Marshall Tracy chipped in with 10 points.

For 2-15 Dexter, Justin Alfond scored 20 points and Craig Wintle had 12. Ryan Dearborn added 11 points.

At Pittsfield, the tourney-bound Maine Central Institute Huskies battled past a stubborn Mount View of Thorndike squad.

Mount View led by 46-45 entering the final period, but Ralph Hirtle and John DeSisto paved the road to victory. Hirtle scored 9 of his game-high 27 in the fourth and DeSisto made good on 6 of 8 from the foul line in the last period.

Hirtle’s 27 and DiSisto’s 14 led the 12-5 MCI club, with Adam Friend adding 10.

For the 4-13 Mustangs, Dean Cunningham scored 15, Ross Whittaker 13, Wally Furrow 11 and Ryan Morrison 10.
