MILO — Charles E. Chessa of Bar Harbor, formerly of Milo, is one of 370 poets whose works have been published in Down Peaceful Paths, Volume V. The book is published by Quill Books of Minot, N.D., and is a collection of works designed to promote and revitalize interest in poetry.

Chessa’s poem is titled “Quiet Times.” He is a Maine native and has lived in the Bar Harbor area for 10 years. He graduated from Penquis Valley High School of Milo. He has been active in community services in Maine and was president of the Sebec Lake Fish and Game Association. He also helped build the Brewer Community Playground.

His works appear in other publications, such as “Poems of Great America” by the National Arts Society; “Celebration of Life 1990” by Poetry Press; “Treasured Poems of America — Fall 1990” by Sparrowgrass Poetry Forum; Wide Open magazine; and “American Poetry Anthology 1990” by The American Poetry Association.
