LEWISTON – Leigh-Ann Smith scored a game-high 29 points to lead the host Bates College Bobcats to a 78-57 victory over Bowdoin College of Brunswick here Monday in women’s basketball action.
For the 14-9 Bobcats, Adrienne Shibles scored her 1,000th career point on the way to 10 in the game. She also added 11 rebounds. Julie Roche scored 13 points and Amy Schrag added 12.
Cathy Hayes scored 21 points to pace the 5-16 Polar Bears. Noel Austin and Melissa Schulenberg each scored 10 points.
