WATERVILLE – Senior guard Tom Dorion scored 19 of his career-high 26 points in the first half as the Colby College men’s basketball team cruised to a 47-19 lead en route to a 94-66 victory over Bates College of Lewiston Wednesday.
The win clinched the White Mules third consecutive 20-victory season.
Dorion hit 8-of-9 from the field in the first half and scored to start a 9-point run which gave Colby an 18-7 lead.
Kevin Whitmore added 18 points and John Rimas chipped in with 10 for Colby, now 20-4. The White Mules will open their defense of the ECAC New England Division II championship here Saturday against Anna Maria College of Paxton, Mass.
For the Bobcats, who finish their regular season at 15-9, Tim Collins and Sean McDonagh scored 12 points apiece.
