ELLSWORTH — “Honoring Our Bodies: Reclaiming Women’s Wisdom,” an all-day workshop sponsored by Workshops of Acadia, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Ellsworth Holiday Inn.
The workshop will feature Dr. Christiane Northrup, who founded the Women-to-Women Clinic in Portland and is an assistant clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Northrup is co-president of the American Holistic Medical Association.
Participants will explore the experience of being female in the American culture, how it affects their physical bodies, and how they can promote the healing process. Through lecture and group discussion, patterns associated with common women’s health problems will be examined including premenstrual syndrome, fibroids, endometriosis, abnormal Pap smears, vaginitis, breast disorders, menopause and eating disorders.
For more information, including the cost of the workshop, call Workshops of Acadia at 288-5627 or 288-4128.
