PVHC “D” team wins Maine Invitational

BRUNSWICK – The Penobscot Valley Hockey Club “D” team compiled a 4-0 record at the Maine Invitational Tournament at Bowdoin College’s Dayton Arena this weekend to win the tourney championship. PVHC defeated the PVHC “B” team 3-1 Friday, Mid Coast of Brunswick 7-1 and Winslow 6-4 on Saturday, and Biddeford 2-1 Sunday.

On Sunday, Chris Tanis scored the game-winner with 1:10 left in the game. Derek Damon scored the other goal. For Biddeford, Sean Kerry scored the lone goal.

In Saturday’s game with Mid Coast, Jarrod Gordon and Nate Waring each had a hat trick. Justin Payson scored one goal. Matt Brown scored for Mid Coast. In the other game, Payson had a hat trick, Tanis scored twice and Gordon added a goal. For Winslow, Danny Allen scored 2 goals. Seth Karter and Chad DuBois each had a goal.
