CORINTH — Noah Weisleder and John Brown, Central High School students, attended the 1990 Math/Science Scholars Program at Hebron Academy. The program is designed for public school students with interests in science and mathematics and is a five-week residential program sponsored by the Maine Center for Educational Services and Hebron Academy.
Weiselder is the son of Ann and Denis Weisleder of Corinth and Brown is the son of Kathleen Brown of East Corinth.
In the program, each student takes two major courses, one in math, the other in science, and a writing course. Each emphasizes problem-solving and experimentation. A variety of social and recreational activities, field trips, cultural events and college counseling are included.
Applicants should be in grades 9-11 and have interest in math or science and be good learners, although high honor grades are not required.
