ROCKPORT — Gladys and Elray Kimball have requested permission from the Army Corps of Engineers to retain and maintain 22 existing rental moorings in Rockport Harbor.

The Army Corps reported that the moorings have existed since 1978 and are secured by 2,000-pound granite blocks. The moorings are rented on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Army Corps is soliciting comment from interested parties regarding the moorings. A public hearing could be called if requested.
