Allan A. Swenson, former editor and general manager of Gannett Books in Portland, has announced his formation of a sales and marketing firm, Books “RRR” Us +, to expand sales and markets for Maine and New England regional publishing firms and self-published authors.

Although he took early retirement from Guy Gannett Publishing Co., he will continue to represent the full line of Gannett Books which he developed during the past 11 years with that publisher.

In his new business, Swenson also will be introducing AudioStoryBooks, developed by Pine Point Records of North Windham, and VideoStoryBooks, produced by Three East Video Productions of Portland.

The Gannett Books line includes the well-known Bill Caldwell titles, Standish cookbooks, the Maynard Moose children’s series, and a wide range of whole language, nature and adventure books for children.

As he works with authors and artists, Swenson also will serve them as a literary agent. Swenson has written 23 books published nationally.

Although he will be traveling widely in Maine and New England, Swenson will maintain an office at his farm on Alewife Road, Box 1987, Kennebunk 04043.
