Carson wins candlepin title > Rolls 135 average on Maine Pro Tour

Chip Carson of the Bangor-Brewer Bowling Lanes captured the championship on the Maine Candlepin Pro Tour with its last tourney over the weekend.

Carson finished with a total pinfall of 6,734 over the five tourneys for an average of 135 per string over 50 strings. Allyn Joy of Oxford Hill Lanes in South Paris finished second with a 6,585 and Russ Nealey of Oxford Hills placed third at 6,520.

Sharon Fogg of Oxford Hills collected the women’s championship on the Tour with a total of 5,860. She averaged 117 per string in the 50 strings.

Trailing Fogg were Sue Crawford, B-B Lanes, with a 5,789 total and Val Joy of Oxford Hills with a 5,759.

Bob Rousselle of Vacationland Lanes was named the men’s Rookie of the Year and Wendy Ross of DePatsy’s Lanes in Waldoboro was selected women’s Rookie of the Year.

The top 10 men’s and women’s finishers are listed below.
