Placing responsibility

Thank you for the story headlined, “Icy roads…” on Page One, March 11.

This story deserves praise because it places the responsibility for vehicle crashes exactly where it belongs: squarely in the hands of the drivers.

By finding a state police source to quote, you avoided the delicate problem of having the newspaper offend a large number of advertisers and readers. Perhaps it is time to take a firmer stand on the responsibility for vehicle crashes. Robert B. Virtue Orono
