PRESQUE ISLE — The basics of baby-sitting, a child-care course for teen-age baby sitters who will be 13 years old by Oct. 15, or older, will begin Monday, April 15. A second session will begin June 17. The course will be held in the conference area at Gould Memorial Hospital in Presque Isle.

The one-week, 13 1/2-hour course teaches teen-agers safe, correct baby-sitting practices. Subjects covered include infant care, first aid, home safety, care of the sick child, burn and poison prevention, entertainment activities and pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.

The April 15-19 session will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

A course fee will be charged.
