Does education mean anything?

In the town of Stacyville some residents are talking about pulling out of SAD 25. They feel it would save them tax money.

We feel that it will hurt our education in the school. It would mean only one teacher for every two classes. The town would have to pay tuition to enter Katahdin Junior High and Katahdin High School.

We were wondering, if SAD 25 will not accept us to the junior high and high schools, then where will we go to school? We could be bused to Southern Aroostook or East Millinocket but we would still have to pay tuition. Would we still have physical education, special education programs, art, music? Would we still have a sports program like we do now? Would we still have a hot lunch program?

Is our education really worth giving up to save a few tax dollars? It may cost more in the long run. Have you thought of that?

We urge the Stacyville residents to stay in SAD 25. Crystal Guiggey, age 11 Amanda Guiggey, age 8 Stacyville
