Pageants set in Aroostook

PRESQUE ISLE — The preliminary Mini Miss Aroostook, Little Miss Aroostook, and Miss Aroostook Teen pageants will be held beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Keddy’s Motor Inn.

Selected contestants will represent the area in state pageants to be held this summer in Portland.

Chosen will be Mini Miss Aroostook, ages 5 to 7; Little Miss Aroostook, age 8 to 12; and Miss Aroostook Teen, ages 15 to 17 (but not a high school senior). Also present will be representatives for Miss Southern Aroostook, young women ages 17 to 25, high school seniors and college students. Contestants will be judged on poise, interview and talent.

The reigning Miss Teen Maine is Naomi Michaud of Frenchville.

Ann Swartz of Presque Isle is the Aroostook County pageant coordinator.
