Farmers market to open May 10

DAMARISCOTTA — The Damariscotta Farmers Market will open for the 1991 season on Friday, May 10, in the American Legion parking lot on business Route 1 in Damariscotta. Market hours will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays.

Early in the season some of the farmers will bring seedlings and plants to the market and whatever early vegetables they have available. The seedlings and plants include vegetables, flowers and herbs. Most of the produce and fruits are picked within hours of being offered for sale.

In addition to produce, other items are sold at the market by their producers.
