Royals’ Leland Alley halts Searsport 12-5
JONESPORT – Leland Alley scattered seven hits while striking out five to lead the Jonesport-Beals Royals past the Searsport Vikings 12-5 here Thursday.
Alley aided his cause with a run-scoring single.
Troy Alley contributed a double and single for the 2-2 winners and Shawn Alley had an RBI double. Joe Moores chipped in with a two-run single and Tony Beal had an RBI single.
For 4-2 Searsport, Shane Robert singled twice and doubled. Melvin Grant doubled and singled.

Ashland 6, Van Buren 3
At Van Buren, freshman Dean Rafford allowed only one hit while leading the Ashland Hornets over the Van Buren Crusaders.
The righthander struck out seven and walked six. He gave up a first-inning single to Jason Poitras.
Poitras, a sophmore righty, was the hard-luck loser as he struck out 15 and walked five. Ashland’s six runs were all unearned as Van Buren committed six errors.
Josh Ash paced the 1-3 winners with an RBI double. Ryan Caron chipped in with a run-scoring single and Jason MacLean doubled.
For Van Buren, now 1-2, Tom Perkins had a sacrifice fly.

Greenville 6, Charleston 3
At Greenville, Travis Carpenter doubled, singled and drove in a run to spark the Lakers of Greenville High to their second win against three losses.
Brian Morrill scattered six hits in going the distance on the mound for Greenville, while Jarrod Strid and Matt Murray contributed RBI singles.
For 2-2 Charleston Christian Academy, Odie Kneeland socked three singles and drove in a run. Brad Preble added a pair of singles.
