Good news for college students

On behalf of all the residents of Appleton House of Bangor I would like to extend a huge thank you to Bill Reed and the pledge class of the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity and Mike Laramie and his brothers of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity, both from the University of Maine, for the excellent job done painting the hallway and numerous bedrooms in our home. Thank you also to Shari Rapoza of the Student Activities Office at UM for all the help in making all contacts possible.

It often appears that college students get more than their fair share of unfavorable publicity and I feel the public should be aware of some of the positives, and praise bestowed when deserved. On two separate occasions in the past several months these fine groups have come to our home and have gladly done a superior job, both quality and quantity-wise, doing much more than was originally asked of them. I can’t thank them enough. Claire L. Corrigan Administrator Appleton House, Bangor
