3E beats James River

OLD TOWN – Anthony Jones knocked in four runs with a double and a single to back the four-hit pitching of Steve Buzzell as 3E posted an 11-4 Old Town Little League victory over James River at the K of C Field here Thursday. Chad Moors rapped two doubles and a single for the 5-1 winners, who also got two hits from Jared Foster. Shawn Beal doubled for 4-2 James River.

Corey Young powers Sewall’s

OLD TOWN – Corey Young struck out 14 during a four-hit performance and helped his own cause with two home runs, a double and four RBIs to key Sewall’s to a 10-4 victory over Rotary in Old Town Little League play at the Stillwater Field. Cory Ouellette had two singles and an RBI for the 3-3 winners. Jason Thibodeau and loser Stevie Goslin (12 strikeouts) doubled for 2-4 Rotary.

Gold Star blanks Fleet Bank

Eddie Hewes pitched a two-hitter striking out 11 and added two singles as Gold Star defeated Fleet 13-0 in Brewer Little League action at Dalton Field Thursday. Mark Blaine had a double and single for 3-2 Gold Star. Pat Griffin tripled and Mark Pinkham singled for 1-4 Fleet.
