EAST SULLIVAN — Abe Mills, a senior at Sumner High School, recently participated in the Maine Jazz All State Music Festival at the University of Maine in Augusta. Students received several days of instruction from respected guest instrumental and vocal artists. The weekend culminated in a combined jazz concert.

Abe and Chris, the sons of Dan and Joan Mills of Hancock, were selected for the Maine All State Chorus through auditions last fall. Both of these vocal students have been active in Sumner’s Music and Drama departments, as well as being members of the Ellsworth Gilbert and Sullivan Society.

Chris will attend Bowdoin College in the fall, while Abe will attend Vassar.
