ORONO – The first annual Black Bear Open, a fund-raising tennis tournament to benefit the University of Maine tennis programs, will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Chester G. Bridge Tennis Complex on the UM campus.

Events will include men’s singles and doubles and women’s singles and doubles. All events are sanctioned by the Maine Tennis Association.

Entry fee is $15 for singles and $20 for doubles teams. A consolation tournament will be held for first match losers in men’s and women’s singles.

Entry deadline is Thursday at 6 p.m. For further information or to enter contact the Bangor Tennis Club at 942-4836 between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., or Dave Blagden at 947-4692 anytime.
