FORT KENT — The SAD 27 Parent, Student and Teacher Organization is raising funds to bring representatives of the Chewonki Foundation to elementary schools in Wallagrass, St. Francis, Eagle Lake and Fort Kent.

The group seeks to raise about $2,000 for the services of the Wiscasset-based foundation. The program encourages participants to develop their personal potential, gain a sense of community, and heighten their interest in and sensitivity to the natural world.

The group hopes the fund-raiser will mark the beginning of a business-education relationship to support special programs for SAD 27 students.
