Newburgh native Ricky Craven will search for an unprecedented seventh NASCAR Grand National North victory on Sunday when the tour heads to Thompson (Conn.) International Speedway for a 150-lap race.
Craven’s quest for win No. 7 highlights this weekend’s racing action around the region.
While Craven, the NASCAR GNN points leader, will be looking for that win in a 1 p.m. race, instate tracks will also be starting their engines on Saturday night.
At Speedway 95, the mini stock division will close out its points championship with Saturday night’s action. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
At Unity Raceway, five classes of racing will highlight the action with the green flag dropping at 7:30 p.m.
At Oxford Plains Speedway, Saturday night offers the Winston Racing Series drivers more points with a 7:30 p.m. start and on Sunday, $5,000 will be up for grabs for the winner of the Pro Stock Open 100. Sunday’s racing starts at 2 p.m.
At Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, the super sportsman spectacular highlights the 7 p.m. racing card.
The American Canadian Tour will trek to Ste. Croix, Quebec, for the Budweiser 200 on Sunday at 1 p.m.
