Stearns wins Husson women’s league

Trisha Ripton tossed in a game-high 23 points Friday, leading Stearns of Millinocket to a 64-57 victory over Hampden Academy in the championship game of the Husson College Women’s Summer Basketball League at Newman Gym in Bangor. Corey Santerre scored 18 points and Sarah Marshall netted 10 for Stearns, which finished 12-0 for the six-week program. Tara Leavitt paced 9-3 Hampden with 21 points.
