ST. AGATHA – Troy Pelkey scored from Andy Penland with 2 minutes remaining in the game to break a 1-1 tie and lead Washburn High to a 2-1 victory over host Wisdom in a boys high school soccer game here Monday.

Jay Moody scored unassisted with 25 minutes left in the second half to tie the game at 1 for the 1-0 Beavers. Goalie John Walker saved 8 of 13 shots.

For Wisdom, 0-1, Doug Lerman scored from David Pelletier in the first half and Jim Killarney had 17 saves on 31 shots at goal.

Wisdom 2, Washburn 1

At Washburn, Shannon Lagassie’s goal in the second overtime lifted Wisdom to victory past Washburn in the opener for both teams in schoolgirl soccer action.

Vicki Morneault also scored a goal for the winners and goalie Tracy Michaud made 7 saves.

Washburn’s Shermon Clark scored the team’s only goal. Amy Lovely had 14 saves for Washburn.
