WASHBURN – Jason Theriault scored two goals to help Washburn post a 4-2 victory over Fort Fairfield in boys soccer action here Monday afternoon.

Jay Moody and Rob Belanger each added a goal for the 3-0 Beavers, who took a 3-0 first-half lead. Scott Dobson chipped in with an assist and goalies John Walker and Jon Maynard combined for 15 saves on 19 shots.

Kirk DeMerchant and Lucas Bloxham each scored a goal for the Tigers, now 0-1. Eric Cormier added an assist, and Shawn Rogers made 10 saves on 16 shots.

Fort Kent 3, Van Buren 1

At Van Buren, Robert Raymond and Chad Marquis each scored first-half goals to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead en route to the win in the opener for each team.

Andrian Marquis added a second-half goal for the Warriors. Chuck Michaud and Jeremy Desjardins each notched assists. Goalie Shawn St. Peter made 12 saves on 15 shots.

Kevin Morneault scored off a Jason Poitrais pass for the Crusaders. Netkeeper Troy Doucette made 16 saves on 22 shots.

Limestone 1, Madawaska 0

At Madawaska, Craig O’Neal scored unassisted with 18 minutes left in the game to give the Eagles the win.

O’Neal lined a shot from 20 yards out into the upper left corner of the goal off the hands of goalie Joey Cameron.

Goalie Chris Apodaca made 14 saves on 14 shots for the 2-0 winners.

Cameron stopped 6 of 7 shots for the 0-1 Owls.
