PRESQUE ISLE – Michelle McBreairty scored a goal on a penalty kick with 2:39 left in the second overtime to give the Fort Kent Warriors a 3-2 schoolgirl soccer win Presque Isle here Monday.

The kick resulted from a hand-ball penalty.

For the 4-4-1 Warriors, McBreairty scored the first goal and Beth Gagnon scored the other. Both were unassisted. Melissa Voisine made 10 saves on 21 shots.

Kelly Pinette scored two unassisted goals for the 2-5-1 Wildcats. Iona Lee made eight saves on 20 shots.

Houlton 1, Madawaska 0

At Houlton, Houlton’s Jill Donato scored at the 26:12 mark in the second half and the Houlton Shiretowners improved to 7-1-1 on the season.

Kate Anderson notched her sixth shutout of the season, stopping five of seven shots.

For the 4-5 Owls, Jill Dube and Maria Sabastian combined for 14 saves on 18 shots.

Dexter 6, Central-EC 0

At Dexter, Karen Hersey scored 3 goals and Mandy King had 2 goals and 2 assists as the host Tigers marched to their fourth consecutive victory of the season.

Angie Haven chipped in with 1 goal and 2 assists for the winners while Marcia Harrington had 9 saves on 10 shots.

For Central of East Corinth, 2-2, April Wallace stopped 17 of 24 shots.

Katahdin 2, So. Aroostook 0

At Dyer Brook, Lea Craig and Melanie Shippee each scored a goal to lead the Katahdin Cougars to a win over host Southern Aroostook.

For the 4-0-1 Cougars, Eliza Clark and Tonya Carr each had an assist. Eryn Cole made four saves on nine shots.

Janet Corneil made 19 saves on 32 shots for the 1-5-1 SAHS Warriors.

Sumner 5, Bangor Christian 2

At Bangor, Dawn Emerton and Natalie Mason each scored two goals to lead the Sumner Tigers of East Sullivan to the victory over Bangor Christian.

For the 3-1-1 Tigers, Melissa Nelson scored a goal. Susan Lowe made five saves on 12 shots.

Kerry Hartman and Julie Murray each scored a goal for the 1-4 Patriots. Erica Johnson made 24 saves on 33 shots.

Brewer 3, Hampden 2

At Brewer, Amy Winchester scored an unassisted goal on a breakaway with 11:55 left in the game to give the Brewer Witches the victory.

For the 4-0 Witches, Winchester also scored on a penalty kick and Emily Burrill had the other goal. Angie Lufkin assisted on Burrill’s goal. Goalie Jen Poliquin made nine saves on 12 shots.

Shelly Worthley scored two goals for the 1-2-1 Broncos. Bethany Atkins had an assist. Becky Huson made 11 saves on 17 shots.

MDI 1, Orono 0

At Orono, Nellie Fox scored off an assist from Laura Wells with 15 minutes remaining to lift visiting Mount Desert Island to victory.

Jessica Phelps made eight saves on 16 shots for the Trojans.

Marcia Therrien and Liza Flemming combined to make 12 saves on 15 shots for the Red Riots.

Searsport 4, GSA 0

At Blue Hill, Amber Howard scored three goals, all unassisted, as the Searsport Vikings moved to 4-0 on the season with the win over George Stevens Academy.

Jen Russ added a goal for the Vikings and Joy Richard made 8 saves on 10 shots.

For the host Eagles, 2-2, Patty Bodge made 10 saves on 10 shots.

Bangor 2, Old Town 1

At Bangor High, the Rams evened their record at 3-3 on goals by Joni Fournier and Lindley McCarthy. Renee Nicholas assisted on Fournier’s goal.

In Bangor’s goal, Patti Sawyer had 4 saves on 7 shots.

Old Town, 0-2-2, Erika Nadeau scored for Old Town and Danielle Folsom made 13 saves on 22 shots.

Hermon 2, John Bapst 1

At Hermon, D.J. Glazier scored with 11 minutes left in the game to break a 1-1 tie and give the Hawks their first win after a loss and two ties. Kerri Downing assisted on the game-winner.

Hermon’s Heather Pace had opened the scoring with an unassisted tally before John Bapst’s Tracy Buswell, unassisted, tied it.

Hermon goalie Michelle Blackmore had 10 saves on 14 shots.

John Bapst, 1-2-1, got 7 saves on 13 shots from Jaimie Walls.
