LINCOLN – Amy Charles scored two goals to lead the Foxcroft Academy Ponies to a 4-1 win over host Mattanawcook Academy in field hockey action here Thursday.
For the 11-0 Ponies, Tracy London had a goal and an assist, and Jess Libby added a goal. Jamey Rush and Jen Michaud combined for three saves on five shots.
For the 4-7 Lynx, Lynn Wotton scored on a Nicole McGinley assist. Kim Bennett had 10 saves on 16 shots.
Foxcroft won the JV game 1-0.
PCHS 0, Dexter 0 (2 OTs)
At Guilford, a defensive struggle left the game knotted at zero at the end.
For host Piscataquis Community, 7-2-1, goalkeeper Kristen French made 3 saves on 5 shots.
For Dexter, 5-4-2, Lindsay Smith had 3 saves on 4 shots.
Dexter won the JV game 1-0.
Stearns 1, MCI 1 (2 OT)
At Pittsfield, the Minutemen of Millinocket tied host Maine Central Institute 1-1.
The Huskies scored first when Donna Ward scored off a Jen Kuhlmey just 7:10 into the game.
Stearns rebounded, however, to knot things at 1-1 just 13 minutes later when Kelly Reeves scored off a Reagen Dicky assist.
For MCI, 2-9-1, Laura Irish made 4 saves on 5 shots.
For Stearns, 2-8-1, Heather Russell stopped 8 of 10 shots.
