Sister Mary Norberta, C.S.S.F., president of St. Joseph Hospital, was named chairman of the Maine Hospital Association Professional Practices Council at its annual meeting Oct. 1.
Norberta, as chairman, also will be a member of the board of directors.
She was named president of St. Joseph in 1982 and executive vice president of St. Joseph Healthcare Foundation in 1983.
She had held management positions at Worcester-Hahnemann Hospital, Worcester, Mass., and Nazareth Child Care Center, Jamaica Plain, Mass., and the Brookside Family Life Center, Jamaica Plain.
She also was an instructor in maternal and child nursing at Harvard Medical School and at the Boston College Graduate School of Nursing.
She earned graduate degrees in managment from the Sloan School of Management, at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and in public health from Tufts University, Medford, Mass.
