THOMASTON — Maine Displaced Homemakers Program will reopen its doors from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Wednesday at the Thomaston Center of the University of Maine at Augusta. The Thomaston Center serves individuals from Lincoln and Waldo counties.
Program staffers will help plan job searches, complete applications and resumes and practice effective interviewing. They also make references to the nearest Displaced Homemakers Center for courses in self esteem, assertiveness training and career/life planning.
Priority will be given to individuals who are widowed, divorced, separated, or have a displaced or unemployed spouse and who need to become economically self sufficient. Services are free and confidential.
