I am writing about the article, “Religious group wants to dig up graveyard” (BDN, Oct. 15).

The article refers to the group as New Age Christians who espouse such things as clairvoyance and reincarnation.

New Age teaching is definitely not Christian in any sense. The following are typical New Age beliefs:

There is no distinction between God and the created world.

God is nothing more than an impersonal energy force behind everything.

We are all God, and therefore we need no God in heaven.

These teachings are more easily identified with eastern religions and occultism. Thomas D. Perry Caribou
