One of the items on the ballot this November is a bond issue to provide funds for continuation of historic restoration and preservation projects throughout the state and for maintenance of state parks. Both of these objectives are very worthwhile in my opinion and in the opinion of those who have seen the remarkable results of such funding in the past.
Some of these projects are still in progress in our area under a 50-50 matching fund program, and failure to continue the funding through approval of this bond issue would seriously affect the completion of these projects from which we will all benefit.
In simple terms, I hope people will fully appreciate the value of this bond issue and will vote on bond issue 7-YUP (translated, that means “YES”). Philip B. Turner, chairman Friends of Aroostook Historical Center Presque Isle
