We are all living in the middle of a disaster. In America — imagine! We are surrounded by greed, stupidity, and lack of common sense. Most of us are counting pennies, clipping coupons, and waiting for sales, but according to some we are not in a recession.

We are all living in the middle of a disaster. In America — imagine! We are surrounded by greed, stupidity, and lack of common sense. Most of us are counting pennies, clipping coupons, and waiting for sales, but according to some we are not in a recession.

Bank executives have turned out to be thieves. Our politicians are making more money than ever and paying less attention to the real needs of the nation. They are far more in touch with the monied lobby than the people who pay their salaries. President Bush seems to have a wonderful feel for the plight of any country besides his own. We have so many points of light that we must be doing fine….

Those who are less than honest with us must be made to understand that we are not mindless fools who accept blindly what we are handed. We must stop paying for greed and dishonesty. Dianne C. Gerry-McCahill Lincoln
