League bowlers at Heritage Lanes will hold a bowlathon to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association through Saturday, Nov. 16.
The bowlers volunteered for the bowlathon, run during the entire week, and have obtained pledges for the event.
Prizes will be based on the amount of pledge money raised and include Bowling Against Dystrophy, crying towels, BAD shirts, and bowling bags. The grand prize will be awarded in April, a trip for two aboard the Scotia Prince.
MDA receives no state or federal funding and relies on fund-raising events and volunteers to continue providing services and equipment to the adults and children suffering from MD.
Heritage Lanes is an annual site of the MDA bowlathons and league bowlers raised $1,000 at the last event. Members of Tau Beta Sigma and ERA Dawson-Bradford volunteered an evening to sign up bowlers.
