From the 1891 NEWS

Exeter, Me. An Exeter man made a strange capture a few days ago. The captive was nothing less than a pure white hedgehog of good size. A Dover man heard of the capture and rode down to Exeter, ready to pay a good price for the curious creature. When he arrived in Exeter he found that the possessors of the hedgehog had been unable to resist the promptings of appetite. They were just picking the animal’s bones.

Monson, Me. The mountains north of here at this writing are clothed in their winter garb of snow. This reminds us of what is to come.

Bangor, Me. The last steam mill drive of the season has been received at the Bangor boom and the men are now busily engaged in rafting it. The work will last seven or eight days. The drive contained about 4,000,000 feet of logs.
