Husson College will receive two $2,000 scholarships for the spring semester of the 1991-92 academic year from the trustees of the Maine Higher Education Assistance Foundation. The announcement was made by Glenn McAllister, chairman of the MHEAF trustees, president of Citibank and the Maine Bankers Association.
Recipients must be full-time students who are sophomores, juniors or seniors enrolled in a business-related degree program. They also must be graduates of a Maine high school, have good grades and show a need for financial assistance.
The MHEAF was established in the 1950s to support a guarantee fund for student loans. In 1990, trustees voted to continue the original intent by establishing a scholarship fund.
