WOODLAND – The Jonesport-Beals Royals raced out to a 17-point lead at the half en route to a 50-32 schoolgirl basketball victory over the Woodland Dragons here Thursday night.
Lynette Beal scored 17 points and Julia Alley eight added for the winners, now 2-1.
Tracy Lewis paced 0-2 Woodland with 13 points and Amy Kneeland netted eight.

At East Corinth, the host Red Devils almost let a runaway turn into a loss, but held off rallying Penquis of Milo for their second win in two tries.
The Devils held Penquis scoreless in the second period and led 28-8 at the half before taking a 39-13 margin in the third.
However, the Patriots wouldn’t collapse and rallied to outscore the hosts 32-8 and pull within two, 47-45, with just under three minutes left before finally being defeated.
Beth Miller led the winners’ balanced scoring with 12; Cherie Greatorex added 11.
For the 1-2 Pats, Tina Harris had 16 points and 13 rebounds. Andrea Haley scored 12 and Renee Cote 11.
