BASKETBALL: Philadelphia 76ers forward Charles Barkley was arrested at his hotel room Sunday morning after breaking a man’s nose during a fight following a game with the Milwaukee Bucks, police said. Barkley was released from Milwaukee County jail shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday on a $500 cash bond, Milwaukee police said. Barkley, who was arrested for battery, is scheduled for an appearance Tuesday morning before the district attorney, at which time the charge will be reviewed, Capt. Joseph Purpero said. Barkley allegedly broke the nose of a 25-year-old Milwaukee man during a fight in a downtown parking lot at about 2:30 a.m., police said. The man also suffered cuts to his forehead and was treated and released at a Milwaukee hospital.

SKIING: Auburn native Anna Parisien skied the two fastest runs Sunday and won a North American Championship Series giant slalom. Parisien, 19, was clocked in 58.35 seconds for the first run at Mont Ste. Anne Ski Area and had a combined time of one minute, 53.16 seconds. It was the second win of the series for Parisien, who skis out of Sugarloaf USA in Maine. She also captured the opening race of the series, a giant slalom in Winter Park, Colo., earlier this month…. Meanwhile, at St. Anton, Austria, a men’s World Cup slalom already postponed by a day because of bad weather was cancelled Sunday because of continued heavy snowfall and high wind. A men’s downhill was also cancelled.

HORSE RACING: Rudy Baez became the first jockey to win 400 races in one year at one track when he took Rockingham Park’s sixth race Sunday on Bay or Plenty. Baez, 41, earlier this season equaled Willie Turnbull’s 49-year-old track record for most victories in one program with seven. Bay or Plenty, owned by Susan Clark, paid $3.60.
