Ferguson leads MCI past MV

PITTSFIELD – Jethro Ferguson scored 17 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to power the Huskies of host Maine Central Institute to a 52-37 schoolboy basketball victory over Mount View of Thorndike here Monday night.

Chuck Graham added seven points and 11 rebounds for MCI, now 6-1.

For Mount View of Thorndike, 4-2, Steve Suomi hit for 11 points. Josh Hebert chipped in with 10.

Vinson sparks Stearns

MILLINOCKET – Aaron Vinson scored a game-high 24 points to lead the host Stearns Minutemen to their first win of the season, a 67-51 schoolboy basketball victory over Houlton here Monday night.

Lateef O’Connor added 16 points and Josh Bernier contributed 11 for the 1-3 Minutemen.

For 3-4 Houlton, Chad Belyea hit four 3-pointers en route to 20 points. Dave Yarema also had four 3-pointers on the way to 16 points.
