ELLSWORTH — “Developing Your Business,” a course designed to assist low- and moderate-income individuals who want to start their own business, is being offered by the Washington-Hancock Community Agency.
The 30-hour, three-week course will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, beginning Jan. 28 and continuing through Feb. 13, at the Old Registry Building in Ellsworth on Cross Street.
Marketing, pricing, sales and distribution, record keeping, financing and goal setting will be among the topics covered in the program. According to Frank Roach, designer and instructor of the course, the training will provide participants with hands-on instruction, applying new knowledge and skills to their own business ventures.
The course is open to any resident of Hancock or Washington county who meets specific income guidelines. There is no charge for the course and all materials will be provided at no cost to the participants.
Additional information on the course may be obtained by calling Kathy Lawler at WHCA’s main office in Milbridge at 546-7544.
