Time, site: Friday, 7:30 p.m., at the Physical Education Athletic Center, Philadelphia
Records: Maine 8-7, Drexel 3-5
Series: Maine leads series 2-0
Key players: Maine – C Jess Carpenter (13.9 ppg, 5.8 rpg), F Tracey Frenette (13.3 ppg, 5.6 rpg), F Heather Briggs (12.6 ppg, 8.3 rpg), G Julie Bradstreet (9.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 4.3 apg, 4.2 spg), G Seana Dionne (4.1 ppg); Drexel – G Debbie Lynn (13 ppg, 3.7 apg), F Megan Keating (12.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg), F Becky Carey (6.4 ppg, 5.0 rpg), G Leslie Reiner (12.9 ppg), C Ann Fitzpatrick (8.9 ppg, 7.0 rpg)
Outlook: Maine makes its first trek into the unknown North Atlantic Conference waters with a road trip to play the league’s two new schools. Up first: the Drexel University Dragons. The Black Bears have not won a game at an opponent’s court this season (0-4). Carpenter has been on a roll of late, hitting 70 percent of her shots (30-for-43) in last four games. Maine will look to pressure Drexel’s guards. Drexel is a good rebounding team, something which gives Maine fits. The Dragons have lost four of their last five games.
