STANDISH – Karen Hartman tossed in 19 points and Coach Mike McDevitt earned his 100th career coaching victory as St. Joseph’s College defeated St. Thomas Aquinas 74-67 at the “Chamber of Horrors” here Friday night.
The win moved St. Joe’s, ranked 11th nationally in the NAIA Division II poll, to 10-4. St. Thomas Aquinas, ranked 21st, lost its second game in a row and fell to 7-8.
Stephanie Carter added 13 points and 13 rebounds for the winners while Jill Bourget chipped in with 14 points. Point guard Sheri McCarthy added nine points and seven assists.
For St. Thomas Aquinas, Susan Miani had 20 points while Colleen Fitzpatrick posted 16.
