Russell FT lift Tigers past CAHS

FORT FAIRFIELD – Bobby Russell sank two free throws with no time remaining on the clock here Tuesday night, lifting Fort Fairfield to a 66-64 schoolboy basketball victory over Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

Russell had grabbed an offensive rebound and was fouled to set up the dramatic finish for the Tigers, who improved to 7-5. Russell finished with 23 points, including five 3-pointers.

Kent Willette also connected for 23 points for the winners.

Derek Townsend led all scorers with 28 points while pacing the 7-6 Panthers. Chad King netted 15.
