Winslow rolls by Old Town

WINSLOW – Shane Grenier and Mike Fecteau each had hat tricks to lead Winslow to a 6-1 high school hockey win over Old Town at Sukee Arena here Wednesday night.

Goalie Jared Mills stopped 20 shots as Winslow ousted Old Town from the ranks of the unbeatean. Winslow is now 11-2 and avenged an earlier loss to Old Town.

Old Town is now 14-1.

Grenier’s shorthanded goal and Fecteau’s first goal staked Winslow to a 2-0 lead in the first period before Jay Thomas scored the only Old Town goal off a Jim Evans assist.

Grenier and Fecteau made it 4-1 in the second period before the two completed their hat tricks in the final period.

Erik McClure, Paul Fecteau and Nate Allen had assists for Winslow.

Aaron Humphrey had 23 saves for Old Town.

Brewer 10, Stearns 0

At Sockalexis Arena on Indian Island, Darren Beers had three goals and three assists to lead the Brewer Witches past Stearns of Millinocket.

Chris Munroe hd a pair of goals and three assists, while Saulius Vydas and Aaron Boone each had a goal and two assists for the 11-5 Witches.

Brewer goalie Joel Dolbow had 19 saves.

For the Minutemen, 7-6, goalkeeper Ben Hanscom had 43 saves on 53 shots.
