PRESQUE ISLE – Jason Dean scored the game-winning goal on a Randy Gartley assist with nine seconds left in overtime to give the Presque Isle Wildcats a 3-2 ice hockey victory over John Bapst of Bangor here Saturday at the Northern Maine Forum.
The game was the last of the year in the inaugural season for both programs.
For the 3-13 Wildcats, Travis Lauritson and Chris Lester each scored a goal. Brian Sponberg made two assists. Scott Bernard saved 10 of 13 shots.
Will Houston scored two unassisted goals for the 1-17 Crusaders. Steve Archer had 44 saves on 47 shots.
St. Dom’s 3, Bangor 0
At the Sockalexis Memorial Ice Arena on Indian Island, Kevin Poulin had the hat trick and Chris Tracy made 30 saves as St. Dom’s of Lewiston put the finishing touches on a 14-4 season. Bangor wound up 8-10.
Brian Boucher had two assists for St. Dom’s and Eric Gibson had an assist.
Micah Robbins had 29 saves for Bangor.
