MAINE vs NEW HAMPSHIRE

Records: Maine 19-8 overall, 11-2 NAC; UNH 18-7, 9-4 NAC

Key Players: Maine – Forward Tracey Frenette (13.4 ppg); forward Jess Carpenter (13.3 ppg); guard Julie Bradstreet (13.2 ppg); guard Carrie Goodhue (10.2 ppg); forward Heather Briggs (13.4 ppg); UNH – guard Marcie Lane, off-guard Kerri Eaton, forward Laura Seiden.

Outlook: UNH is on a neutral court after losing by 10 at home to Maine and had its game in Orono canceled because of a leak in the roof at Alfond Arena. The Wildcats will be eager to end Maine’s hopes for three straight NAC titles. Maine has to make sure it isn’t looking past UNH in the hopes of meeting Vermont for the tournament title and ending that team’s undefeated streak.

VERMONT vs. DELAWARE

Time, site: Friday, March 13, 7 p.m., Burlington, Vt.

Records: Vermont, 27-0, 14-0 NAC; Delaware, 15-13, 7-7 NAC)

Outlook: The contest features the NAC’s co-Players of the Year in Vermont’s Kelsen and Delaware’s Riley. Beating Delaware 82-68 and 87-58 in their previous contests should make the Catamounts feel comfortable about this one, especially since Delaware’s Larkin is coming off an injury as is top reserve Merel van Zanten. Vermont has depth, scoring ability, and is strong on teamwork. Four players are in double figures, led by Turnbull, the NAC’s leading scorer. Kelsen and Bay are former Maine high school stars from Portland.
