NORFOLK, Va. – Shelley Zanfagna pitched a solid five-hitter as the St. Joseph’s College women stopped Molloy College of Rockville Center, N.Y., 9-2 in softball here Wednesday.

It was the third win in three outings for the traveling Monks from Standish.

Zanfagna scattered five singles, struck out eight and walked eight. Heidi Thiboutot had three RBI singles for the winners and Linda Hempstead had a triple.

For the 2-1 losers, Denise Patrick singled twice.

The Monks will face Christopher Newport College at Newport News, Va., on Thursday.
