I would like to acknowledge Bill and Marlene Whitcomb, owners of New Hermon Mountain Ski Area, for their continuing support of the Hermon school system and its students, interested in the sport of skiing. Special programs which they made available to our students this year allowed more than 55 of our children to obtain season passes, with 37 enrolled in beginner’s lessons. They unselfishly offered a matching scholarship for free ski lessons to one of our lucky students, in the name of Abby Stover, a student from Hermon lost in a tragic fire last year. Our students, along with their parents, have always been made to feel welcome at Hermon Mountain, and it continues to be a safe place for children to have fun at a well-supervised facility.
Even though times are tough, with many a business unsure of its fate with the econmy the way it is, Bill and Marlene continue to be a positive influence within the Hermon community. Cathy Tweedie Hermon Elementary School ski supervisor
