Dangerous intersection

The police have stated that the intersection of Essex and Garland streets is now the worst intersection for accidents since the flashing lights were installed recently….

The intersection is very bad for pedestrians. The motorists make right turns after you step off the sidewalk, and right in front of you, and nearly hit you. Also, cars coming west on Garland Street reach speeds of 45 mph. Just a few more accidents and the auto insurance premiums are going to rise.

What is the city waiting for? For someone to get killed or disabled? The city has to make this intersection a four-way stop or install traffic signals….

I am going to start reporting motorists in the city of Bangor. It is no joke. After the last accident, it took a cop seven minutes to get to Essex and Garland streets. Furthermore, the city never cleans up the broken glass after an accident. I notice hubcaps and broken muffler pipes lying around the city, too.

This intersection is a crossing for school children. One girl stepped off the sidewalk and a motorist make a right turn in front of her. Louis A. Kosma Bangor
