Relegated to the Mini Page

On March 10 you published a story on “Babe” Didrikson, who was a great female athlete born in Texas….

What is discouraging in this modern age and day is that such an article about a woman athlete as Didrickson should be shunted off to the Mini Page, a supplement for kids, instead of the regular sports pages devoted to male athletes. Besides, your Mini Page is inserted sideways, unattached and seemingly not a part of your regular paper. It would make one think such an outstanding female athlete, in the paper’s view, belongs with children, their rearing, and not try to view (her) with men. Gertrude B. Ives Lincolnville
